miRNA Associated With Glucose Transporters in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Systematic Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a malignancy of the oral cavity with poor prognosis. Dysregulation in glycolytic pathways involving glucose transporters (GLUT) has been implicated Furthermore, GLUT expression cancer cells regulated by several miRNAs. However, there lack data about miRNA involved regulation OSCC. The objective to evaluate role Data sources include PubMed (MEDLINE), Scopus, and Web Science. Studies evaluating or associated OSCC were included systematic review. pertaining extracted from studies. Qualitative assessment was carried out for miRNA. Newcastle-Ottawa Scale used quality assessment. Ten study articles after analyzing 4675 papers. These studies evaluated between healthy samples. There are variable patterns it dependent on GLUT1 GLUT-3 detected more frequently OSCC, while no reveals GLUT2, GLUT4, GLUT7, GLUT8, GLUT13, SGLT1, SGLT2 regulation. insufficient evidence specific linked GLUT3 expression. especially OSCC; however, relation understudied. In future, exploring clearer understanding association metabolic pathway warranted. progression disease, disease resistance, prognosis assessed better treatment outcomes.

Clinicopatholgic Parameters Associated With Regional Lymph Node Metastasis In Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Retrospective Study
Background and Objective: Oral cancer accounts for less than 3% of all cancers. Despite recent improvement in diagnostic and treatment methods, the overall survival of the disease is unfavorable. Several studies have been performed to assess factors influencing lymph node metastasis and prognosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate some clinical and pathological factors influencing lymph ...
متن کاملChanges in Salivary Antioxidants in Patients with Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: Systematic Review Study and Meta-Analysis
Background and Objective: Oral cancer is one of the 10 most common cancers in the world and its global outbreak is increasing. Saliva assessment is one of the non-invasive diagnostic methods for this cancer. The aim of the study was to achieve a comprehensive conclusion about changes in salivary antioxidants in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth (OSCC). Materials and Methods: I...
متن کاملClinical decision support system, a potential solution for diagnostic accuracy improvement in oral squamous cell carcinoma: A systematic review
BACKGROUND AND AIM: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a rapidly progressive disease and despite the progress in the treatment of cancer, remains a life-threatening illness with a poor prognosis. Diagnostic techniques of the oral cavity are not painful, non-invasive, simple and inexpensive methods. Clinical decision support systems (CDSSs) are the most important diagnostic technologies used...
متن کاملPrognostic biomarkers in oral squamous cell carcinoma: A systematic review.
Over the years, several tumor biomarkers have been suggested to foresee the prognosis oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) patients. Here, we present a systematic review to identify, evaluate and summarize the evidence for OSCC reported markers. Eligible studies were identified through a literature search of MEDLINE/PubMed until January 2016. We included primary articlesreporting overall surviva...
متن کاملClinical Significance of Salivary Biomarkers in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Review
Background and Aim: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) accounts for approximately 3% of all cancers worldwide, and if diagnosed early, it has a five-year survival rate of around 85%; however, a late diagnosis may decrease the survival rate to 50%. Aberrant expression of several genes is associated with the hallmarks of OSCC including uncontrolled cell proliferation, poor differentiation, invas...
